Discover the Favoriten neighborhood

Favoriten is a district with a rich history. It is named after the formal imperial summer residence Favorita that once stood in this area.

It is a multicultural neighbourhood that reflects Vienna’s diversity. You can find products from all over the world at Viktor-Adler-Market, and many international shops and takeaway restaurants in the area. Just across the street for example there is Ferhat Kebab, one of Vienna’s most famous kebab shops, which offers home-made bread and regionally sourced ingredients.

SHOPPING

With a length of more than one kilometre, Favoritenstraße is one of the most popular shopping streets. The pedestrian zone consists of several interconnected squares that invite you to linger and stroll.

A visit to the famous Viennese ice cream parlour is a must. Their standout treat? The legendary ice-cream dumplings, a delightful twist on a classic favorite that keeps everyone coming back for more.

(Note: Only open in summer!)

Claimed to be over 125 years old by its lively stallholders, this market spices up the neighborhood with a colorful mix of Turkish, Greek, Indian  and Austrian goodies, drawing curious shoppers from all around.
